2006 Riding Season | ![]() |
Mileage totals The 2006 riding season was a good season. We had a couple people have mishaps, but no serious injuries. The bikes can always be repaired or replaced. Some things to remember; if you hit a "pot hole" or other debris on the road, be sure to check your tires for abnormalities; when riding curvy country roads, watch for gravel especially where a gravel road meets the paved road in a curve; during cold weather, frost equals ice, salt and sand equals gravel; and when fueling, watch your step, spilled diesel fuel at the pump is extremely slippery and if you get it on the soles of your shoes, you may not know it until the next time you want to put your feet down and they slide. Some of us track our mileage thru the "riding season". Our riding season ranges from March 1 thru November 30. This year, we had 23 club members turn in their totals. We had 4 members with over 20,000 including one rider with an incredible 34,000 miles. All mileage counts, whether you ride a little or a lot, what matters is that you ride. Our total for this season is over 280,000 miles.
